Broken Blood Vessels in Washington, DC
Broken blood vessels appear as visible veins beneath the skin. Often a red or a dark blue or purple in color, the veins may appear thin in the case of spider veins or thick and raised in the case of varicose veins. Spider veins typically do not pose a medical problem, but some patients may wish to have them treated for aesthetic reasons.
Varicose veins can pose a medical risk for blood clots and can cause uncomfortable symptoms such as aching, burning, or tingling sensations in the affected area. Varicose veins are most commonly found in the legs. The Center for Laser Surgery offers leg vein treatment procedures to help patients with varicose veins.
