Midface / Liquid Facelift in Washington, DC

An increasingly popular trend in the field of cosmetic medicine is the use of non-surgical techniques as an alternative to plastic surgery. With the development of long-lasting volumizing fillers the ability to delay or eliminate the need for a facelift is now possible. The master injectors at our Center utilize the latest techniques for mid-facial augmentation to produce consistent and nature liquid facelift results with nearly no downtime as compared to traditional surgical facelift procedures.

What is the Liquid Facelift?

The liquid facelift is an evolution of the use of fillers to address the root cause of lines, folds, jowling, and sagging of the lower face, as an alternative to direct treatment of lines and folds. As we age, we lose bone structure and soft tissue of the mid-face (cheek) area of our faces, and what starts as a V shaped lower face progresses to more of a square, with narrowing of the upper cheeks and resultant sagging of the skin of the lower face, producing jowling and lines and folds around the mouth. The liquid facelift, also known as ‘mid-face filler’, utilizes high density volumizing fillers to replace the lost bone structure and soft tissue of the cheeks, resulting in a fuller appearance to the midface and temples, and the secondary effect of lifting of the skin of the lower face improving jowls as well as lines and folds around the mouth.

How long do the results of a liquid facelift last?

With use of appropriate fillers and proper injection techniques results can last from 1-3 years. After the initial treatment patients often return for treatment at annual intervals to maintain improvement. We will often couple the liquid facelift with facial revolumization or skin tightening procedures to enhance results.

Who is an appropriate candidate for a Liquid Facelift?

Good candidates for the liquid facelift treatment are typically in their 30s-50s with a mild to moderate amount of facial sagging or mid-face regression. The liquid facelift cannot replicate results of a surgical facelift and attempting to do so often leads to unnatural results. During a consultation the highly experienced injectors at our center will provide an honest assessment of the degree of facial droop and provide recommendations based on each patients unique facial structure. As we are not a volume driven medspa we will not recommend treatment to any patient who would not obtain natural and satisfactory results from the liquid facelift procedure.
