The Q-Switched Ruby laser system from Astanza operates at a wavelength of 694 nm and is considered the gold standard laser for Blue and Green Tattoo Removal. Q-switched lasers focus their energy into incredibly short pulse durations (20 nanoseconds). These short pulses and high repetition rates allow these lasers to have a photomechanical ‘fracturing’ effect on tattoo pigment, causing it to degrade and be absorbed by a patients own immune system.
