Infantile Hemangiomas in Washington, DC

Infantile Hemangiomas form from a buildup of blood vessels in the skin that results in the formation of a cherry red lesion of the skin. Hemangiomas are common in infants and young children, and typically do not pose any medical risk unless located in sensitive areas, such as around the eyes, nose, or mouth. Infantile hemangiomas. Infantile hemangiomas undergo multiple phases, including proliferation, stabilization, and regression, with nearly all lesions fully regressing by the age of ten.

Dr. Adrian can evaluate your child to determine treatment would be suitable for their infantile hemangioma. While most cases of infantile hemangioma are completely cosmetic in nature, both topical and laser treatments exist that can reduce both the eventual size of a hemangioma and/or hasten their regression if desired.

If you would like to schedule a visit with Dr. Adrian for hemangioma evaluation please call 202-966-8814 or click here to contact us via email.
