Hemangiomas in Washington, DC

Hemangiomas form from a buildup of blood vessels in the skin that often results in the formation of a red birthmark. Hemangiomas are common in infants and young children, though they typically do not pose a medical risk. Typically, they are found on the head or neck and may disappear on their own with age. The Center for Laser Surgery can evaluate your child to determine whether or not they need treatment. Laser treatment is often successful in treating hemangiomas and returning the skin to its normal appearance.
